Our North Cornwall bucket list for 2026

Some years whisper for something more. For 2026, we’re sharing a collection of coastal moments we return to time and again. Salt-kissed mornings, unhurried afternoons and evenings shaped by sea air and fading light.

Rock

  • Begin the day on the Camel Estuary
Early mornings here are quietly special. The water is calm, the light low and the pace unhurried. Perfect for a paddle, a swim, or simply standing barefoot at the water’s edge.
  • Go waterskiing with Camel Ski School
A true estuary classic. Skimming across the water with the dunes and sailing boats drifting past is one of those only-in-Rock moments.
  • A round at St Enodoc Golf Club
Wild fairways, rolling dunes and views across the estuary. A genuine bucket-list course, whether you’re playing or simply soaking up the setting.
  • Cross the water to Padstow by ferry
A short journey that feels like a ritual. Lunch by the harbour, a gentle wander, then back across the Camel as the afternoon softens.

Daymer Bay

  • Swim at Daymer Bay on a still morning
Sheltered, serene and endlessly inviting. This is wild swimming at its most gentle (saltwater therapy before the day properly begins).
  • Walk up Brae Hill
A short climb with generous rewards. From the top, the estuary curves below and the Atlantic stretches endlessly west.
  • Pause at St Enodoc Church
Nestled amongst the dunes, this timeless spot invites you to slow down and linger awhile.
  • Let the wind shape the afternoon
When the breeze arrives, wing foiling, kitesurfing and windsurfing add a quietly exhilarating layer to the Daymer experience.

Polzeath

  • Catch a wave at Polzeath Beach
From first-timers to seasoned surfers, there’s nothing quite like paddling out into Atlantic rollers with the buzz of the beach behind you.
  • Warm up in a sauna by the sea at Baby Bay
One of our favourite contrasts: heat and steam followed by a cold dip in the Atlantic. A deeply restorative ritual with big coastal views.
  • Walk the coast path around Pentire Headland
Big skies, rugged cliffs and crashing seas. One of the most exhilarating walks on this stretch of coast.
  • Drift down to Baby Bay at low tide
Sheltered and scenic, perfect for long afternoons that blur gently into evening.

Port Isaac

Port Isaac, North Cornwall
  • Walk the filming locations of Fisherman’s Friends
Wander the harbour, lanes and clifftops made famous on screen and see how effortlessly Port Isaac plays itself.
  • Explore the harbour before the village wakes
Early mornings are Port Isaac at its most atmospheric. Quiet lanes, bobbing boats and the soft sounds of the sea.
  • Follow the South West Coast Path
Dramatic, beautiful and wonderfully wild, with hidden coves and cinematic views in every direction.
  • Settle in for a long, candlelit supper
As the lights glow around the harbour, the village takes on an intimate, timeless feel.

The final bucket-list touch

After a day spent swimming, waterskiing, surfing or wandering, return to your coastal retreat for the ultimate indulgence: a massage in your own holiday home, arranged through The Wellness Concierge. Soft towels, sea air drifting through open windows, and nowhere else you need to be.
